The Origin Story

My name is Wouter, an engineer, business consultant and solution architect with a strong focus on making things work in the real world.

I founded De BedrijfsBasis after repeatedly seeing companies with great potential become stuck. Their initiatives stalled in meetings, strategies never translated into practice, and innovations failed somewhere between planning and implementation.

The world is changing rapidly. Automation and AI are taking over more routine tasks, yet there are fewer people capable of solving the critical challenges that arise across strategy, operations and technology. That widening gap is exactly where De BedrijfsBasis operates.

My motivation comes from solving problems where others get stuck. I enjoy the work most when the situation is complex, pressure is building, and clarity is missing. In those moments, I thrive by untangling the issue, identifying what truly matters and moving forward with a solution.

Consulting, in my view, is never just advice. It begins by understanding what is truly happening in the organisation, continues with shaping a strategy together with leadership and only has value when it leads to real action and real change on the shop floor.

My background spans several disciplines.

I advise management teams and directors on business decisions.

I understand automation and robotics from a technical perspective.

I have worked hands-on in factories and warehouses and I have experience in troubleshooting under time pressure.

I also work closely with system integrators, machine builders and operators.

This combination allows me to diagnose challenges quickly, translate them into strategic direction and ensure that solutions can be implemented successfully with real people, equipment and reality.

My mission is to help companies innovate faster, smarter and more cost-effectively, from first analysis to design and from prototype to full integration.
